Network Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with one of the world’s most recognized and trusted electric power holding companies, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer who will design and configure Cisco routers and switches, creating detailed documentation. Responsibilities of the right candidate:Determine equipment needs for new sites (number of data drops, switches, etc.).Create network diagrams and update existing site drawings.Prepare cost estimates for planned installations.Configure Cisco routers and switches.Turn up and troubleshoot private and public WAN circuits.Troubleshoot complex routing designs, LAN switching environments, and firewall policies.Analyze QoS policies for applications and VoIP.Work closely with technicians during installations, walking them through how to connect and power up equipment.Work in an Agile team environment on projects and assignments.Upload configurations and data into Fusion and SolarWinds.Handle DNS name changes. Apply today if your background includes:Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university plus a minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology with at least four years of design and support of Cisco Systems’ products.In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten years of experience in Information Technology with at least five years of design and support of Cisco Systems’ products.Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices.Experience with the following network hardware/software solutions: Cisco routers, switches, wireless controllers, APs, phones, ASAs, ACS, ISE, DNA, ACI and OTV, Palo Alto firewalls and PanoramaCisco certifications are a strong plus
