My global banking client are seeking a Managing Director, Corporate Banking, FIG, Portfolio Risk Management (1st line).This is a key role and to backfill the previous individual who has retired.As a key leader in the FIG team, you will support the origination and structuring of corporate lending transactions, coordinate with other products as an integral part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships. SME lending expertise for a variety of sectors, establish credit facilities to support trading products business, facilitating credit approvals in support of transaction banking products and training and training junior bankers. FIG is divided into 5 groups spanning, Asset/Wealth Managers, Specialty Finance, Insurance, Market Structure and Banks. You will be responsible and will oversee a team of junior and senior bankers in the Portfolio Management team, that will support and work alongside each of the industry groups. Responsible for providing ongoing risk management support to the Group Head of Corporate Banking FIG. You will also be part of the Executive FIG BoardComing from: Bold bracket firms – US and Canadian coverage1st or 2nd line: 1st lineLocation: New York, Chicago, or Toronto – team has critical mass in all these locationsVisa: US citizens or Green Card HoldersSalary: $250,000 - $300,000Start Date: ASAPSkills/qualifications:10 years of relevant experience in corporate banking working with investment banking on client coverage, negotiating, and structuring financial transactions. Including some time in a corporate lending environment developing business.Oversee/delegate credit underwritings and leads the credit documentationCollaborate with specialists to support successful deal completion.Monitors client, client industry and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect client’s portfolio and business needs.Strong management and leadership skills. Improves team performance, recognizes and rewards performance, coaches’ employees, supports their development, and manages poor performanceLead due diligence and credit analysis on both new and existing client relationships. includes client visits, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations.Experience with a delegated credit limit or signing authority is preferredknowledge of organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.SME knowledge of a corporate bank’s financial solution products and services.Confident with transactions and related risk (credit, market, operational, legal/compliance, etc.).Highlight emerging issues and trends to inform decision-makingResponsible for deal structuring, business development, and other expertise and negotiates transactions with clients on highly complex dealsStrong knowledge of, client industry and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect client’s portfolio and business needs.
