Structural Steel Field Surveyor

Our certified and highly-skilled teams specialize in structural steel design, engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection and retrofit to existing structural members.DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIESUtilize surveying equipment to collect and present accurate data for practical field use, ensuring precision in building control lines, and establishing column placement and anchor rod locationsPromote a strong safety culture while emphasizing the core priorities of Safety, Quality, and ProductionTravel to job sites for data collectionVerify elevation and alignment of embeds, provide as-built drawingsUtilize software applications such as Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, & Microsoft Office applicationsDeliver information for column and steel installation alignment, creating anchor rod surveys, and producing as-built drawings when necessaryMaintain building plumbness and square, coordinating with other trades for accurate steel placement, and assisting with various steel installationsAssist with miscellaneous steel placement such as monumental stair and shaft steelCoordinate crane beam install and steel that correlates other trades work that effects steel placement and accuracyREQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSPrior experience in Structural Steel Erection, preferably with a minimum of 3 yearsExperience in surveying slopes/grades/wall lines/ for miscellaneous metalsKnowledge of using total station or similar surveying equipment is necessaryAvailability for travel to field sitesAble to work at heights in an aerial lift or on elevated steel floors, emphasizing the importance of safety and adherence to protocolsThorough understanding of AISC requirements for building orientation and alignmentExceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data collection and building control linesStrong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with team members and subcontractors, promoting a culture of safety and quality onsiteEqual Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.Kinsley Steel, Inc. is a Drug Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Kinsley Steel, Inc. is a participant in the Federal E-Verify Program.
