Overview In this role, you will lead mechanical design coordination across schematic to contract documents for complex facilities, ensuring code compliance and interdisciplinary alignment. You’ll collaborate with Project Managers, disciplines, and agencies to deliver on-time, high-quality systems. Your work will support HDR’s mission to enable innovation and sustainable built environments. ResponsibilitiesCoordinate mechanical design team through schematic, design development, and contract documentsLead meetings with governing agencies to ensure code complianceManage workload to meet project schedulesConduct site work sessions with PM and other disciplinesReview mechanical documents for cross-discipline conflictsWrite/edit mechanical specifications; select equipment and systemsCoordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders; implement changesProvide construction contract administration as neededPerform QA/QC on work of junior engineers/coordination staffUndertake other duties as needed Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringPE or professional engineering licensureExperience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildingsProficiency with MS Office; Trane TRACE or similar softwareExperience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmActive participation in an employee-owned cultureCollaboration and team coordinationCommunication across disciplinesDetail-oriented problem solvingTrane TRACE (or similar software)Mechanical system design for buildingsPreparation and editing of mechanical specifications
