Wage range: $17/hr Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm Location: 1001 south 4800 west in Salt Lake City Your Impact The role of a Prep/sliced station cook is crucial in ensuring the quality, consistency, and efficiency of food preparation and service in a corporate dining cafeteria while contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the business. Job Specific Duties Food Preparation: Preparing ingredients such as meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments for sandwiches, salads, soups, and other deli items. This may involve slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to recipes or customer preferences. Cooking: Cooking various food items, including grilled sandwiches, french fries, etc. Prep/sliced cook may also be responsible for operating cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and steamers to ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and consistency. Sandwich Making: Assembling sandwiches, wraps, and other deli items according to customer orders, following standardized recipes or customizing orders based on customer preferences. Deli cooks must ensure that sandwiches are made accurately and presented neatly and attractively. Customer Service: Interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and providing recommendations as needed. Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhering to food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment. This includes proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items, as well as regular cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to coordinate food preparation and service efficiently. Deli cooks must communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks. What you will need ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations. Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States. High School Diploma/GED Physical and Sensory Requirements Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting boxes, up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Taste and Smell to assess food quality, freshness, and adherence to dietary requirements. Ability to distinguish colors for food presentation. Our people are purposeful.
