Physical Therapists develop individualized treatment plans and work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in various clinical settings. Key Responsibilities Evaluate patients’ physical conditions, mobility limitations, strength, balance, coordination, and pain levels Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and physician referrals Implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation programs Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, injury prevention, body mechanics, and home exercise programs Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and progress notes Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care Use therapeutic equipment and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and mobility aids Assist patients in recovering from surgery, injury, stroke, or chronic medical conditions Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and facility policies Required Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program Active Physical Therapist license in the practicing state Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving abilities Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in acute care, outpatient, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or home health settings Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems Specialized certifications in orthopedics, neurology, sports therapy, or geriatrics Travel healthcare or multi-setting experience Dry needling, manual therapy, or vestibular rehabilitation training preferred in some settings Work Environment Hospitals Outpatient rehabilitation clinics Skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) Home health agencies Rehabilitation centers Sports medicine facilities Long-term care facilities Schools and pediatric clinics Skills & Competencies Patient evaluation and rehabilitation planning Manual therapy and therapeutic exercise techniques Critical thinking and clinical judgment Patient motivation and education Time management and organization Documentation accuracy Compassion and patient-centered care Team collaboration and communication Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift patients or equipment for extended periods Ability to assist patients with transfers and mobility activities Fine motor skills for manual therapy techniques and equipment use Typical Physical Therapist Benefits Competitive salary or weekly travel pay Health, dental, and vision insurance Continuing education assistance Licensing reimbursement 401(k) retirement plans Paid time off and holiday pay Travel stipends and housing assistance for travel assignments Apply now to start your next travel adventure!
