We are looking for individuals who are energized by ambiguity, motivated by impact, and excited to help bring breakthrough technologies from concept to reality.About the RoleThe Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and functionality of company facilities, including office, laboratory, and operational spaces. This role ensures that facilities are compliant, efficient, safe, and capable of supporting business operations and growth.The ideal candidate has experience managing facilities in a biotech, laboratory, healthcare, or regulated environment and can coordinate vendors, maintenance programs, workplace operations, shipping/receiving activities, and facility logistics in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.This position serves as a key operational partner across the organization and works closely with laboratory, operations, EH&S, and leadership teams to support a high-functioning workplace environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFacility Operations & MaintenanceManage day-to-day facility operations across office, laboratory, and shared spacesCoordinate preventive maintenance programs for building systems and equipmentOversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, access control, and general repairsEnsure facility uptime and rapid resolution of operational issuesMaintain facility cleanliness, organization, and operational readinessServe as primary point of contact with landlords, property management, and building engineering teamsCoordinate maintenance and operational support for laboratory infrastructure including freezers, compressed gases, DI water, vacuum, and other critical utilities as applicableParticipate in after-hours response coordination for facility-related emergencies or operational issues as neededShipping, Receiving & LogisticsManage incoming and outgoing shipments, deliveries, and mail servicesCoordinate receipt, distribution, storage, and movement of laboratory supplies, equipment, and operational materialsMaintain shipping and receiving procedures and records to ensure proper handling and inventory organizationCoordinate logistics with vendors, couriers, and internal stakeholdersAssist with asset tracking and equipment movement within the facilityLaboratory & Operational SupportCoordinate laboratory support services including, Lab coat services, hazardous waste disposal, biohazard and sharps waste management, and equipment service vendorsSupport laboratory space planning and operational readinessAssist with onboarding and workspace setup for employees and contractorsCoordinate facility access, badge management, and workspace logisticsVendor & Contractor ManagementManage relationships with facility service vendors and contractorsObtain and evaluate quotes, contracts, and service agreementsTrack vendor performance, service schedules, and compliance documentationSupport facilities budgeting and cost optimization initiativesSafety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with OSHA, local building regulations, and company safety policiesPartner with EH&S leadership and external consultants to support safety programs, inspections, and corrective actionsCoordinate emergency preparedness and response proceduresMaintain facility records, permits, inspections, and maintenance logsSupport corrective actions related to facility audits or inspectionsSpace Planning & Workplace OperationsCoordinate office and laboratory moves, expansions, and renovationsSupport workplace initiatives that improve employee experience and operational efficiencyOversee workplace operations and shared resource management to support an efficient and professional work environmentAssist with facility planning to support company growth and evolving operational needsQualificationsExperience managing vendors, maintenance programs, shipping/receiving operations, and facility logisticsStrong organizational and project management skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management systemsExperience in biotech, life sciences, healthcare, or laboratory environments preferredKnowledge of laboratory operations and safety requirements preferredFamiliarity with OSHA, EPA, and local compliance requirements preferredExperience supporting regulated laboratory environments (e.g., GMP, CLIA, CAP, ISO) strongly preferredFacilities Management certification such as IFMA FMP or CFM preferredEducation & Industry ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent anticipated salary range for this position is $95,000 – $135,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
