Chief Technology Officer - (NYC)

OverviewThe Role: We are hiring an in-person Chief Technology Officer to own Thera’s technical vision and execution. This is a senior leadership role responsible for architecture, engineering execution, team management, and long term technical strategy. You will manage and grow a team of engineers, partner closely with the CEO and ensure that product development, payments infrastructure, and internal systems scale with the business. This role is fully in office in New York City, working side by side with leadership five days a week.What You Will OwnOverall technical strategy and architecture across the Thera platformEngineering execution and delivery across payroll, payments, and new product linesManagement and development of a growing engineering team starting with three or more engineersTechnical decision making around security, reliability, scalability, and complianceCross functional execution with product, operations, and complianceTechnical project planning, prioritization, and delivery timelinesHiring, onboarding, and performance management for engineeringWhat You Will Build And OverseeCore systems that power global payroll and money movementNew products across Spend, Docs, Cash, and AccountingInternal tooling and infrastructure that supports operations and compliancePlatform improvements that reduce risk and increase velocityAbout YouThree to 8 plus years of experience building and scaling production systemsPrior experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, or senior engineering leaderProven track record managing engineers and leading technical teamsStrong systems thinking and comfort making high impact architectural decisionsHighly organized and comfortable owning execution and project managementAble to balance speed with reliability in a regulated fintech environmentExperience with Typescript and Java or Kotlin is preferredAbout TheraThea is building the financial OS for modern SMBs.
