High Five is a new pub fare concept situated inside the Electric Grinch, a new music bar and venue in downtown Schenectady. This concept brings to the table five of the tastiest and most crave-worthy pub dishes, each with a gourmet flair. Each of the five dishes is crafted from scratch daily, using high-quality ingredients and drawing inspiration from different cuisines to elevate pub grub favorites to the next level. This position is for a Lead Chef. You will begin by implementing current menu dishes, and later have the opportunity to collaborate and create the future menus. As the lead chef you will lead the charge, working with your sous chef to prep and execute the full menu. Duties: - Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen - Plan and execute menus, ensuring variety and quality of food offerings - Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards - Monitor food production to maintain consistency and minimize waste - Maintain inventory control, ordering supplies as needed - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Qualifications: - Proven experience as a culinarian or in a similar role - The ability to motivate and inspire others - Knowledge of food production techniques and basic/fundamental culinary principles - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Proficient in menu planning and helping create new dishes - Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring proper maintenance and usage - Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting If you are passionate about creating delicious meals and delivering exceptional dining experiences, we invite you to apply for the position of Lead Chef.
