Senior Data Engineer

*Overview* We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines that facilitate the efficient processing and analysis of large datasets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and availability, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. *Duties* * Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses. * Utilize Apache Hive for querying large datasets and optimizing data storage. * Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS services to support scalable data architecture. * Write complex SQL queries to analyze data and generate insights for stakeholders. * Create automated scripts using VBA and Shell Scripting to streamline data processing tasks. * Collaborate with analytics teams to understand their data needs and provide necessary support. * Build and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration of data services. * Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. *Qualifications* * Proven experience in data engineering or a related field. * Proficiency in ETL processes and tools. * Strong knowledge of Apache Hive and AWS cloud services. * Excellent SQL skills for database management and querying. * Familiarity with VBA and Shell Scripting for automation tasks is a plus. * Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights. * Experience with analytics tools or frameworks is desirable. * Understanding of RESTful API design principles is beneficial. * Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset. * Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
