Assistant Coach, Men's and Women's Swimming
Drew University is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable full-time, exempt, Assistant Coach for Men's and Women's Swimming Team. The Assistant Coach should have a strong understanding of swimming techniques, able to foster a positive and engaged environment and provide support to our Head Coach and the team in the Athletics Department.
Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in all phases of the program including, but not limited to practice, and meet for game preparation, team management, recruiting, fundraising, community service and any additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
Pool Management
The Assistant Coach is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pool, including ensuring cleanliness, adherence to all applicable rules and regulations, coordination of lifeguard scheduling and pool coverage during hours of operation. The position also requires assisting with external groups that utilize the facility.
Special Requirements: (must possess or obtain within 3 months of hire)
American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
Certification in first aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Certified Pool Operation (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required with previous collegiate playing and/or coaching experience strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with parents, coaches and team members.
Working knowledge of common computer applications.
This position will require the candidate to communicate within the University community as well those outside that community.
