Product Development Manager
About the Role
We are a fast-growing consumer products company looking for a Product Development Manager to oversee select categories within the business across multiple retailers.* This role bridges international sourcing and domestic retail partnerships*, combining factory-side execution with buyer-facing merchandising.
You’ll be responsible for managing production with overseas factories, bringing new products to life, and ensuring buyers have fresh assortments to choose from. The right candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in balancing the needs of both global suppliers and national retail buyers.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development/Merchandising: Create and deliver fashion, innovation and newness across all categories in partnership with retail buying teams.
Sourcing & Production: Strategically manage relationships with international factories to negotiate all aspects of production. Manage end-to-end life-cycle for all products, which includes: Development, Testing, Quality control and Delivery. Factories work on multiple time zones and so do we.
Trend & Market Analysis: Continually monitor assortments in key retailers to ensure product line offerings are on-trend and appropriately valued. Utilize multiple platforms (Social Media, magazines, trade shows) to discover trends and apply them appropriately to each category of business.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Utilize findings from competitive shopping and trend analysis to partner with design team to develop retailer appropriate packaging that resonates with the core customer. Works closely with printing factories to ensure product packaging is cost effective and strategically designed to maximize sales in each retail channel.
Leadership: Takes initiative to develop creative solutions to new challenges. Consistently looks to improve processes, grow categories of business, and make all partnerships more efficient.
Qualifications
5–7+ years in Merchandising or Retail Buying in a Fashion driven Category.
2-3 years in Sourcing or Product Development.
Experience working with retailers in multiple channels (department store, specialty store, off-price)
Track record of driving sustainable growth across multiple categories.
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
