Job Details:The Senior Ammonia Service Technician is responsible for operation, maintenance, and service of the facility’s ammonia refrigeration system. Candidates will need to demonstrate proficiency in ammonia systems and ability to perform required duties within the regulatory agencies (OSHA/EPA), IIAR, and Tyson standards. The ability to effectively communicate with members of management, engineering, operations/production, and contractors is fundamental to being successful to this role. Mechanical troubleshooting, ammonia refrigeration service experience, ability to multi-task, and self-motivation are required to be successful in this position.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform and complete operations, preventative maintenance, and repairs of plant ammonia refrigeration systems including but not limited to:Involvement with Ammonia related ProjectsAmmonia evacuations/pump outsPrepare and execute job specific pump out proceduresPSM – Involvement and documentationEquipment CommissioningCompressor MaintenanceShaft seal replacementsMotor alignmentsRebuildsLevel 1 and IIAR InspectionsTransducer CalibrationsSlide Valve CalibrationsRMAU’sUnderstand Functionality and controlsValve train and control valve troubleshootingGas burner operations and safety circuitsAmmonia Liquid PumpsShaft seal replacementsOiler and bearing housing rebuildAbility to service both Cornell CB and HT style pumpsPurger rebuilds and troubleshootingReceive Ammonia DeliveriesOil RemovalSafety Relief Valve Change outsRebuild Parker RS and Danfoss Ammonia Valve stationsElectrical and Controls TroubleshootingTrain and assist general Utility TechniciansRead and understand equipment P&ID’s and applicable blueprints.Perform all duties in accordance with OSHA – IIAR regulations.Timely repair of plant ammonia equipment/systems with precision maintenance techniques as necessary to meet production rates and maintenance downtime goals.Data entry daily into current CMMS system including preventative maintenance records, inspections, and stock replacement parts used.Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, including all safety protocols and company policies.Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.Pay: Hourly wages up to $45.00/hour for those with preferred requirements. The 2nd shift also offers a $1.00 shift premium. This senior level position also includes up to a 2% annual incentive bonus.Requirements:Education: High school diploma or GED required.Experience5 + years industrial ammonia refrigeration experience required.Proficient experience with Microsoft based software, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.QualificationsAbility to interpret schematics and blueprints during troubleshooting.Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to self-motivate and work independently.Comfortable operating at high elevationsAbility to lift or move 75 pounds.Ability to withstand changing environments.Ability to operate an aerial lift and sit-down forklift.Basic computer skills required.Ability to pass a physical and fit testing requirements for full face respirator use.Schedule Currently, the largest need for experienced techs is on night shift.Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.1st shift: 5:00AM – 5:00pm; 2nd shift: 5:00PM – 5:00AMRotating 2‑2‑3 schedule: two days on, two days off, three days on, alternating weeklyTravel Requirements: Approximately one to two weeks travel per year for technical and safety training.Relocation: Comprehensive relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates, including moving expenses, temporary housing, and travel support.Preferred Requirements (but NOT required):Associates degree or equivalent certifications in Refrigeration/Mechanical fieldIIAR Ammonia Refrigeration trainingRETA/CIRO/CARO – Operators LicenseEPA TYPE Universal LicenseBoiler Operator LicenseExperience with SAP systemsRelocation Assistance Eligible:YesWork Shift:ALL SHIFTS (United States of America)Certain roles at Tyson require background checks.
