Applications Engineer: Computational Electromagnetics
Overview
As an Applications Engineer in COMSOL’s Pre-sales and Applications team, you help customers simulate their future innovations using COMSOL Multiphysics, with a focus on electromagnetics. You will bridge pre-sales support, post-sales technical assistance, and training, collaborating with cross-functional teams to demonstrate, customize, and teach simulation approaches. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge elektromagnetics work and opportunities to mentor others. You will travel to customer sites for workshops and events in North and South America, shaping solutions for diverse industries.

Key requirementsPhD in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a physical scienceStrong theoretical background in electromagnetics and mathematical physicsExperience with high frequency electrodynamics (wave propagation and radiation)12+ months modeling applications using numerical methods (e.g., finite element method) in a commercial, government, or academic settingExcellent communication skills (phone, in person, writing)Current eligibility to work in the U.S. as a permanent residentExcellent communicationWillingness to travelMentoring and training abilityComputational electromagneticsMaxwell’s equationsNumerical methods (finite element method)
