Manager, Operations 2nd shiftPasadenaNearest Major Market: HoustonThe Operation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the transportation and logistics department. This role will involve working closely with other departments within the company, as well as external partners and suppliers, to ensure efficient and effective transportation and logistics processes are in place.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficientlyCoordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are metDevelop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitabilityCollaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation servicesMonitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessaryConduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulationsProvide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to managementIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operationsEducational background / Work experience:A bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management is required.Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.Skills & Competencies:Strong organizational and project management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and complianceAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:Certification in transportation and logistics, such as Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP)Experience with transportation management software (TMS)Language skills: Fluent in English (oral and written)Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.At Will Employment:DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as "at will" employees.
