Position SummaryThe Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR Director and Chief People Officer in the day-to-day tactical execution of human resources duties for the organization. We put the needs of our relatives first by delivering the highest quality, professional, responsive, and innovative care.Duties and ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & OnboardingSupports organizational recruitment efforts by posting job openings across multiple platforms (UKG Ready, Indeed, Indian Health Service, etc.).Administers new hire processes, including preparing and sending offer letters, completing onboarding documentation, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.Coordinates onboarding for all full-time and temporary employees to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and compliant employee experience.Maintains and updates onboarding checklists, orientation materials, and new hire documentation.Employee RelationsPartners with the HR Program Director and Chief People Officer to support and implement HR program initiatives across the agency.Provides day-to-day guidance and support to supervisors and managers on performance management (PIPs, disciplinary warnings), conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.Addresses employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner, escalating complex or high-risk situations as appropriate.Assists in workplace investigations, including gathering information, interviewing relevant parties, documenting findings, and supporting recommended corrective actions.Leaves & AccommodationsAdministers all leaves of absence in accordance with FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, USERRA, Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML), and organizational policy.Manages the end-to-end leave process, including notices, certifications, leave tracking, payroll coordination, and return-to-work documentation.Facilitates the interactive process for reasonable accommodation requests, collaborating with employees, supervisors, and the HR Director.Maintains accurate, confidential leave and accommodation records in compliance with HIPAA and applicable recordkeeping requirements.HRIS & Records ManagementProcesses all employee data and personnel changes in UKG Ready, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.Maintains personnel files per records retention policy, ensuring proper separation of medical, I-9, and personnel records.Conducts regular audits to identify and correct data discrepancies across HR systems, coordinating with Payroll to ensure accurate processing.Generates standard and custom reports to support HR analytics, compliance reporting, and leadership requests (e.g., EEO-1, OSHA 300 Log)Benefits AdministrationSupports the annual open enrollment process, including communications, informational sessions, and employee elections.Serves as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and processes qualifying life event changes.Coordinates with benefit carriers and the HR Director on plan administration and vendor reconciliation.Credentialing & PrivilegingAdministers the provider privileging and credentialing process, maintaining accurate and compliant records in collaboration with the HR Director.Collects and verifies required documentation, including healthcare licenses, certifications, and background checks.Tracks renewal dates and proactively initiates re-credentialing to prevent lapses, coordinating directly with the Credentialing Committee and clinical leadership.Position RequirementsExperience & QualificationsExperience: 2–3 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist capacity.Industry Context: Previous experience working within a healthcare, tribal, or federally regulated environment is strongly preferred.System Knowledge: Experience working with HRIS systems, preferably UKG Ready; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Compliance: Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, HIPAA, OSHA, Washington PFML).Skills & CompetenciesDemonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity, professionalism, and discretion.Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent recordkeeping skills.Solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience working in a Healthcare HR department.Previous experience with Credentialing, UKG, and SharePoint.Experience working with the unique social issues facing American Indians/Alaska Natives (AI/AN) and a desire to promote the delivery of appropriate health services to this population.Work EnvironmentSchedule: Office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional extra hours for events.Location: On-site clinical/administrative environment in Seattle.Structure: Reports to the Human Resources Director as part of the People Operations team. This position has no direct reports.
