Job DetailsDescriptionDepartment: ServicesReports to: Shop SupervisorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptAbout The RoleJoin our Services team as a Valve Technician, where you'll play a critical role in servicing and repairing industrial valves and actuators both in-shop and on-site. You'll collaborate with customers, suppliers, account managers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, repair, and test a wide range of valves: control, safety, relief, gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, and plugService pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuatorsPerform full-cycle valve repair: pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, machining, lapping, painting, assembly, and final inspectionCalibrate and test valves and related instrumentationDocument repair activities including failure analysis, parts used, and corrective actionsSet up and dismantle repair equipment at shop and field locationsProvide technical support and troubleshooting to customersFollow National Board VR/UV program guidelinesComply with site-specific safety protocolsMaintain a clean and organized work environmentParticipate in Safety and Quality programPhysical RequirementsLift up to 44 lbsPerform twisting, turning, and lifting motionsClimb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding (10–30+ feet)Work in varied environments including heat, cold, and clean roomsTravelOvernight travel requiredWork performed at Control Southern facilities and customer sitesQualifications1–3 years of experience in valve, pump, or actuator repair preferredWelding and machining skills are a plusValid driver’s license and insurability under company policyCore CompetenciesStrong verbal and written communication skillsMechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting abilityEffective time management and task focusTeam-oriented with a commitment to safety Familiarity with rigging and handling heavy equipmentAbility to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, sand blasters, seat facing machines, and power toolsFlexibility to work off-hours, weekends, and overtime as needed
