Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/20/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 20, 2026 Length: 12 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a hospital in Georgia, caring for critically ill medical/surgical patients on a night shift schedule with a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience required. Details 12-bed split ICU unit in a hospital setting, with 6 beds on the 2nd floor (higher acuity) and 6 beds on the 1st floor (lower acuity) Patient population includes critically ill medical/surgical cases such as sepsis, cardiac arrest, cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, alcohol/drug overdose and withdrawal, post-op surgical care, GI bleeding, end-of-life/comfort care, and COVID-19 complications Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 on the higher acuity floor (3 nurses) and 1:3 on the lower acuity floor (2 nurses 1 PCT) Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed 12-week contract Requirements Active GA RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted RTO is capped at 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as 1) No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted; the posted night shift is firm Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule American Traveler Job ID P-688377.
