Controls Design EnngineerRelocation Packages offeredAre you a Control Design Engineer who enjoys designing systems, solving problems, and seeing projects through from concept to completion?We’re working with a well-established and growing engineering business looking to add an Control Design Engineer to their team. This is a role where you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality control systems while helping drive innovation, efficiency, and long-term customer success.The RoleThis position sits at the centre of engineering delivery, combining system design, technical problem-solving, and collaboration across project teams.You’ll be involved in developing automation solutions from the ground up, working closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure systems are delivered to a high standard and aligned with customer requirements.This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical detail and the bigger picture of project delivery.What You’ll Be DoingDesigning and developing control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS)Creating sequences of operation and engineering documentationProducing control submittals and selecting components for bill of materialsDeveloping electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLANCollaborating with engineering teams to improve standards and processesSupporting project delivery from design through to completionWorking alongside project managers, field engineers, and techniciansAssisting with estimating, proposals, and technical sales supportRe-estimating projects based on engineered solutionsSupporting project turnover, documentation, and handover processesContributing to continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and deliveryWhat We’re Looking ForExperience in automation, controls, or systems engineeringStrong knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, or DCS systemsAbility to create and interpret sequences of operation and technical drawingsExperience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar toolsStrong understanding of control system design and componentsGood communication skills and ability to work across teamsA proactive, solutions-focused mindsetDegree in a technical/engineering discipline or equivalent industry experienceWhy Join?Work on a wide range of automation and control projectsBe part of a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering teamOpportunity to influence design standards and engineering processesA role that blends technical design with real project impactLong-term career development and progression opportunitiesThe OpportunityThis is a chance to be involved in the full lifecycle of automation projects while helping deliver high-quality solutions and building lasting client relationships.
