Full-Time Store Manager Trainee (GRAND OPENING),

As a Store Manager Trainee, you'll train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation for managing your own location. You'll supervise day-to-day store activities, ensure overall store performance, identify staffing needs, manage schedules, and develop operational action plans while mentoring and developing the team.Position DetailsPosition Type: Full-TimeEstimated Hours: 45-50 hours per weekStarting Wage: $27.25 per hourEstimated Store Manager Earnings Year 1: Up to $89,000 (inclusive of salary and bonus when applicable)Estimates may vary by locationDuties and ResponsibilitiesConsistently demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role.Supervise day-to-day operations and performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service.Understand the overarching company strategy and communicate core values to foster teamwork.Handle customer concerns and ensure an appropriate resolution.Maintain proper store signage, product quality, and freshness.Assist in hiring store personnel by reviewing resumes, applications, and interviewing candidates.Prepare, manage, and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels.Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations.Conduct store meetings.Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports.Conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend personnel for advancement or termination.Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets.Manage cash audits in conjunction with direct leader per company guidelines.Monitor the competitive environment and recommend adjustments to maintain a competitive position.Provide product feedback to direct leader, including new items and discontinuations.Ensure a safe environment by identifying hazards, maintaining ergonomics, and store equipment.Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels.Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations per company guidelines.Comply with all established company policies and procedures while upholding security and confidentiality of documents and data.Other duties as assigned.Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.Physical DemandsAbility to stock merchandise from receiving to shelving; place product weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights.Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the store.Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.Job QualificationsMust be 18 years of age or older.Ability to work independently and within a team environment.Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt, courteous customer service.Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances growth and performance of direct reports.Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance to ensure quality and completion of work assignments.Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others.Ability to understand and apply budgeting and personnel cost principles.Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.Ability to safely operate equipment such as electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler, and perform general cleaning duties to company standards.Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner.Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.Prior management experience preferred.TravelFull-time store manager trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements.Benefits401(k) Plan and Company 401(k) Matching ContributionsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)PerkSpot National Discount ProgramMedical, Prescription, Dental & Vision InsuranceGenerous Vacation Time & 7 Paid HolidaysUp to 6 Weeks Paid Parental Leave at 100% of payUp to 2 Weeks Paid Caregiver Leave at 100% of payShort and Long-Term Disability InsuranceLife, Dependent Life and AD&D InsuranceVoluntary Term Life InsuranceFull-time employees average 30 or more hours per week within an annual lookback period.Benefits offered to full-time and part-time employees may vary by state.
