Conducts a variety of inspections, testing, repairs, installation and maintenance tasks on automotive, mechanical equipment, and machinery. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.Roles And ResponsibilitiesAdjust and reline air and hydraulic brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipmentAttach test instruments to equipment and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctionsMust be qualified to disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential unitsInspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating conditionInspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps and compressorsInspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gaugesPerform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machineryMust be qualified to install or rebuild diesel enginesRecondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valvesRepair and adjust seats, doors, and windows, and install and repair accessoriesMust be qualified to fix and maintain parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systemsExperience using hand tools and power tools as part of daily work routineOther duties as directed and or assigned, to include and to ensure the safe operation and efficiency of the departmentEducation, Experience, And QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Must be at least 21 years of ageMust be able to work flexible hours.Be able to pass the pre-employment physical and background checks Various Positions: 0-15 years automotive or diesel mechanical experience.
