Substitute Special Education Teacher

Job SummaryTemporary Long Term Substitute Learning Services (Special Education) High School Teacher 100% FTE from January 20, 2026 through February 13, 2026. The Learning Services (Sped) Teacher provides instruction and support to students in need of learning services, and serves as a liaison between the student's primary teachers, special education staff, and other support personnel.Professional ExpectationsMeets all requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regarding credentials for teachers of students with disabilities in Massachusetts public charter schools. LS teachers are expected to review, understand, and implement the Learning Services Policy and Procedure manual, and to meet the professional expectations outlined in the Personnel policy and appointment letter.Professional Duties and ResponsibilitiesAttendance and meetings:Faculty meetingsLevel/department meetingsIEP/504 meetingsParent–teacher conferencesSchool-sponsored professional development sessionsOther supervisory duties as requested by the Coordinator or Administrative TeamAid in the supervision of students at all timesLearning Services Liaison duties:Share and review current IEPs with general education teachers, special education teachers, and other educational personnel; provide updates as needed.Act as a point person for questions and concerns by other staff.Chair annual review team meetings for students.Complete any educational testing for students.Attend three-year reevaluation meetings and assist the School Psychologist or Director of Student Services in chairing the meeting.Input IEPs and all supporting documentation.Monitor the completion of goals and additional information input by other service providers.Guide 1:1 aides in classroom responsibilities, data collection, behavior plans, and academic support.Monitor implementation of IEPs, including accommodations and modifications, technology use, and data collection.Complete progress reports and maintain accurate data on student goals.Communicate with parents through weekly check-ins, respond to questions or concerns, and maintain daily behavior or communication logs.Monitor progress of student grades and behavioral outcomes.SSCPS is an equal opportunity employer.Seniority LevelEntry levelJ-18808-Ljbffr
