The BIM Field Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, communication, field service, technical support, and project management tasks on a day-to-day basis.QualificationsTroubleshooting and Technical Support skillsCommunication and Project Management skillsField Service experience is a plusKnowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM/VDC)Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environmentBachelor's degree in Engineering or related fieldA BIM Field engineer is responsible for creating and managing detailed 3D building models using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy, identify clashes, and optimize project efficiency throughout the construction lifecycle, all while adhering to BIM standards and best practices; essentially acting as a coordinator for the digital model across various project phases. Model development:Create and maintain comprehensive 3D BIM models incorporating architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) elements using BIM software like Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. Coordination and clash detection:Identify and resolve design conflicts between different disciplines by analyzing the BIM model to ensure proper coordination throughout the project. Data management:Organize and manage BIM data, including material properties, quantities, and project schedules, to maintain consistency and accuracy across the model. Collaboration:Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project team members to ensure all design intentions are accurately reflected in the BIM model. Quality control:Perform regular quality checks on the BIM model to ensure compliance with project standards and building codes. Documentation generation:Generate 2D drawings, shop drawings, and other project documentation directly from the BIM model. BIM implementation:Assist in the development and implementation of BIM workflows, standards, and protocols for the project. Training and support:Provide training to team members on BIM software usage and best practices Required skills for a BIM engineer:Proficiency in BIM software:Expertise in relevant BIM software like Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other industry-specific tools Technical knowledge:Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and building codes Communication skills:Effective communication with diverse project teams to clearly convey design intent and address issues Analytical skills:Ability to identify and resolve design conflicts through detailed analysis of the BIM model Attention to detail:High level of accuracy and precision in creating and managing the BIM model Problem-solving skills:Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues within the BIM model and propose solutions Devcon is a growing team of 350+ employees.
