The ideal candidate has a background in life science, is a fast learner, and is detail-oriented. We are looking for self-starters with a can-do attitude that want to be part of a rapidly growing startup and grow with the company. As part of our Bio Team, you will be designing and running biological experiments to improve or validate prototype instruments.    You may be a recent life sciences graduate, experienced lab technician, or a scientist in the biotech industry. The most important part is that you are hungry and excited to be a part of a great team that is revolutionizing Microbial Testing. This is a full time position, and we require at least 40 hrs/week on site.About the CompanyMango is a new type of microscope. Our innovative approach enables us to grow microbes and observe their growth in real time.Located in Los Angeles, our 21-person team combines expertise in business, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, and software development. We've honed our skills at various startups, including Snapchat, and now we're focused on turning this groundbreaking idea into a practical tool for pharmaceutical manufacturing. We're eager to find someone who shares our enthusiasm for making a meaningful impact.If you're looking for a challenge and want to contribute to a project that could change the way we view the microscopic world, we'd love to hear from you.Microbiology Responsibilities:Performance of several culture techniques including:Microbial isolation using streak plate techniquesMicrobial recovery and counting using spread plate techniqueBroth inoculationCell passaging in a biosafety cabinetGood documentation practices and inventory managementGeneral wet lab practices including mixing media solutions, serial dilutions, and media sterilizationVacuum filtration of prepared solutionsGood aseptic technique Cell culture under anaerobic conditionsQualifications:Team player that leans in and helps whenever possibleDetail orientedFast learner who seeks to increase their skills and knowledgeThrives in a fast paced and changing environmentIndependent workerScientific and technical background in life sciencesComfortable handling chemicals and biological materials (will receive proper training)Bonus Qualities (Not Required):Prior wet lab experience involving anaerobic cell cultureDegree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or similar
