Field Civil EngineerLocation: Roxboro, NCPosition Type: Permanent / Full-TimeOur client is seeking a Field Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Roxboro, NC. This is a hands-on field engineering role supporting active construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with construction crews, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure projects are executed according to design specifications, schedules, and quality standards.This opportunity is ideal for a motivated civil engineering professional with strong site development and construction support experience who enjoys being in the field and solving real-time project challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, and manage permitting activities for civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.Conduct field inspections and site visits to verify construction compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.Assist with layout and construction control activities, including establishing and verifying survey control points.Support placement and verification of structural elements such as columns, walls, foundations, and site features.Prepare and revise engineering reports, specifications, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Evaluate soil composition, terrain, drainage, hydrological conditions, and topographical data to support project execution.Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, inspectors, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues efficiently.Review geotechnical and compaction testing results related to construction activities.Support erosion control, stormwater management, grading, and earthwork operations.Recommend process improvements and innovative engineering solutions to enhance project efficiency and quality.Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on engineering assignments and deliverables.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.Minimum 4 years of civil/site engineering experience supporting active construction projects.Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Strong experience with grading, drainage, earthwork, and erosion/sediment control.Experience performing stormwater drainage analysis using Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis (SSA).Environmental permitting knowledge including NPDES, wetlands, Section 404, and Phase 1 ESA.Field engineering or construction support experience is required.Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, power generation, heavy civil, or oil & gas projects strongly preferred.Ability to interpret geotechnical and compaction testing data.Surveying knowledge including topographical surveys, plats, boundary surveys, and coordinate systems.Roadway, paving, and site layout experience preferred.Structural foundation and structural steel field experience is a strong plus.Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred; candidates pursuing PE licensure are encouraged to apply.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to mobilize quickly to active project sites as needed.Aspen Technical StaffingCELEBRATING 25 YEARS~2001-2026~We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
