Java Consultant

Our client is seeking a Java Consultant to manage, operate, and maintain an in-house Online Claiming application. This individual will also be responsible for upgrading other legacy-based applications. This job description outlines the primary responsibilities but is not exhaustive.Responsibilities include: Supervising, mentoring, and providing solutions for all development and support activities by client and its consultant staff. Integrating standardized frameworks, tools, and other ancillary technologies. Collaborating with client's technical staff to configure solutions (e.g., server configurations, access rights). Working with vendors to support the Online Claiming application. Researching and prototyping solutions to meet business needs. Documenting technical specifications. Consulting with application's business analysts and users to determine requirements. Assisting project teams with system requirements and requirements analysis. Guiding client's in interface design and user interface integration. Finalizing application architecture and design. Coding, testing, and deploying solutions in adherence to client's Java standards and industry best practices. Developing and implementing system test plans. Analyzing and troubleshooting complex application and system issues. Conducting extensive functionality testing, including integration with other systems and applications. Developing and updating Online Claiming application reports. Attending design sessions, reviewing deliverables, and providing feedback. Guiding development teams unfamiliar with new technologies. Mentoring and transferring knowledge to client's staff.Minimum Qualifications: Five years of experience in developing and maintaining Java web applications. Five years of experience in analyzing project requirements and designing Java web applications to meet them.Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preferential consideration: Experience developing Java web applications using the Apache Wicket framework. Experience implementing LexisNexis Risk Solutions in a Java application. Experience in providing web services development in a Java application. Experience in using Hibernate ORM in a Java application. Experience developing Java applications connecting to an IBM DB2 database.
