Tool Room Assistant / Attendant
Job SummaryThe Tool Room Assistant is responsible for maintaining the security of the tool room inventory and providing for the check-in/out of tools and equipment to students and faculty. The Tool Room Assistant is responsible for maintaining inventory levels and ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and available for use.Key ResponsibilitiesIssues and receives all tools/consumables to students and facultyVerify all tools are accounted for before and after each shift.Notify instructors and the supervisor of discrepancies in the check-in/out process.Maintain all tools in working order, repairing and servicing broken/worn tools when appropriate, and removing & replacing nonfunctional tools/equipment.Assist with requisitioning and acquiring new tools and equipment.Maintain up-to-date inventory records.Keep the tool room clean and well-organized at all times.Responsible for shipping and receiving of inventory, equipment, and consumablesMaintain effective loss prevention systems, ensuring the security of all assigned company assets.Other duties as assignedExperience and Education RequireDiploma in a related trades field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of EducationWorking knowledge of toolsSufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy liftingBasic computer skillsBasic proficiency with Microsoft OfficeExperience and Education PreferredAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office1-3 years of inventory control experience1-3 years related trade experience1-3 years of loss prevention experiencePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
