Payroll Analyst (Workday / Multi-State Payroll / Contract-to-Hire)Location: Kingston, RI (Hybrid)Schedule: 35 hours/week | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PMType: Contract-to-Hire (Long-Term)Overview:Our client, a well-established organization in the Kingston, RI area, is seeking a hands-on Payroll Analyst to support payroll operations in a contract-to-hire capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior payroll professional who combines strong payroll operations experience with systems knowledge, particularly within Workday or similar ERP environments.This role is ideal for someone comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving environment who can not only execute payroll accurately, but also help improve processes and troubleshoot payroll-related issues.Key Responsibilities:Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time for a multi-state employee populationManage payroll audits, reconciliations, issue resolution, and compliance reviewsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulationsSupport payroll system maintenance, troubleshooting, reporting, and process improvementsPartner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll issuesAssist with payroll reporting, data analysis, and payroll-related documentationSupport year-end payroll activities and ongoing payroll enhancementsHelp optimize payroll workflows and improve internal processesQualifications:5+ years of hands-on payroll experienceStrong end-to-end payroll processing experienceMulti-state payroll tax compliance expertiseExperience with payroll audits, reconciliations, and issue resolutionWorkday payroll experience strongly preferredPeopleSoft experience also highly relevantStrong Excel and reporting skillsExperience in complex payroll environments preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsPreferred:Experience in union payroll environmentsPayroll implementation or system enhancement experienceExperience working in evolving or process improvement-focused environments
