SMALL ENGINE TECHNICIAN/POWER EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
Power Equipment Technician/Small Engine MechanicPerforms operation, maintenance, and repairs, to including, but not limited to 2-cycle, and 4-cycle power equipment; including but not limited to blowers, trimmers, chainsaws, walk behind and riding lawn equipment, small engines, generators, etc. Includes the inspection, operation, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of fuel, cooling, electrical, hydraulic, and lubricating systems, and overall mechanical operational systems of equipment. ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of both residential and commercial end user equipment helpful. Performs inspection and evaluation of equipment using personal observation, general and specialized tools. Makes repairs, maintenance, and overhauls as required using general and specialized tools, equipment, service manuals, computer parts look up, speaking with service manager, or manufacturer representatives. Use of a computer is required. Must obtain, or be able to obtain prior to job start general service and repair tools. A generalized list of tools required is available. This position also requires working in service center atmosphere, and includes regular interaction with the general public, customers, co-workers, vendors, and dogs.Qualifications 36 months or more of equipment repair experience in a service center atmosphere Have and able to maintain basic hand tools of the trade to perform the normal work of the classification Have the ability to troubleshoot equipment Work independently and in with others Have knowledge, or ability to obtain knowledge of specialized tools necessayr to perform repair functions Possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License Able to lift 70 lbs Possess good communication skills for a service team environment Ability to use computer and basic computer functions Maintain a professional and positive image to the public, customers, and co-workers Maintain a professional and positive attitude to the public, customers, and co-workers
