If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy frequent travel, and are driven to make a real and lasting impact on the future of rail infrastructure, we want to hear from you.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Lead scheduled, periodic, underwater, and emergency railroad bridge inspections in accordance with CPKC requirements, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Regulation and Transport Canada safety guidelinesPerform bridge inspections utilizing bridge inspection vehicleComplete monthly safety testing and evaluation of CPKC and contractor employeesMake recommendations to territory Manager Bridge Maintenance regarding the inspection and maintenance of bridgesFacilitate action plans based on detailed inspection results with the Railroad Bridge EngineerComplete inspections of moveable bridges, overhead highway structures, culverts, retaining walls, and turntablesDirecting assignment, use, and operation of bridge inspection vehicleRequired to request and acquire all necessary track authorities to conduct on-track bridge inspectionsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or general equivalencyValid driver’s licenseMinimum of 4 years of railroad bridge experience or bachelor’s degree in civil engineeringKnowledge of field inspection, maintenance, and construction practices for railroad bridgesDemonstrated ability to collaborate with coworkers to support effective management of bridge inspection and maintenance programsStrong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in computer systemsParticipate in on-call schedule for emergency response, ensuring operational coverageWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension and/or retirement plansEmployee share purchase planPerformance incentive planAnnual fitness subsidyPart-time studies programPRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:Medical and Drug Testing This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required.
