HOST – JOB DESCRIPTION Host Responsibilities: The Host is responsible for ensuring all guests are greeted, made to feel welcome, and seated in a friendly and courteous manner. The Host reports directly to the Restaurant General Manager. Host duties will include, but are not limited to: Greet all restaurant patrons immediately upon their arrival Inquire as to the number of guests in the party, maintain wait lists, and communicate wait time to guests Assign guests to server stations in a fair and equitable manner, gather the appropriate number of menus, and seat guests accordingly Answer customer inquiries about the menu and restaurant Answer phones and book reservations as requested Perform opening and closing side work duties such as cleaning menus, waiting area, and restrooms Assist with table setup activities Experience/Qualifications: Ability to multitask and remain clam and professional in a fast paced environment Solid communication and interpersonal skills A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus Ability to work flexible shifts Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, bend, stoop Ability to cross-train and work in different departments Hours: The Host is a full time or part time position and hours may vary Salary/Income: The Host is a non-exempt, hourly position
