Senior Accountant

JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the Senior Accountant position is to play a vital role in the Company's financial management by preparing financial statements and various reports, performing account and bankreconciliations on a monthly basis, and taking on a leadership role within the Accounting department to serve as a mentor to members of the Accounting team and assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, as needed. JOB DUTIES: Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes and other financial reports Develop and analyze reports for business operations and budgets Perform audits and prepare documentation for external auditors, as needed, ensuring adherence to standard financial reporting requirements Work with management to review monthly, quarterly and annual reports Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy in reporting and ledger maintenance Take on a leadership role to train and guide Accounting team members and assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, as required Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax filings Assist with payroll journal entries and tax filings, as required Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Maintain the fixed asset ledger & applicable depreciation entries MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Accounting 4 years of work experience in Accounting or related field Fundamental knowledge of GAAP Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel Sales and payroll tax experience Understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations Understanding of capital & operating leases Experience working with intercompany transactions Detail and deadline oriented Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills Exceptional work ethic, ?can do? attitude, and ability to work as part of a team Willingness and ability to cross-train as required and work hours necessary to support Company demand PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree or higher in Accounting Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations 4+ years of work experience in Accounting or related field Leadership experience Experience working for a multisite manufacturing company with multistate operations Experience with ERP implementations Experience with Acumatica Experience with ASC 842 Lease Accounting Experience with mergers and acquisitions / integrations ABOUT APEX WATER AND PROCESS INC.
