DescriptionSummary:The Assistant Vice President of Mortgage Lending Officer is responsible originating mortgages, and for overseeing a team of loan officers, The role will focus on mortgage loan growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing risk.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Leadership & Staff ManagementTeam Leadership: Lead, mentor, and managing a team of loan officers, fostering a high-performance culture.Staff Development & Performance Management: Set clear expectations, conduct regular one on ones, and provide ongoing feedback.Strategic Planning & Business DevelopmentRelationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners, including real estate agents, builders, financial advisors, and customers.Compliance & Risk Management:• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA/AML). Mitigate risks related to lending practices, loan defaults, and market fluctuations.RequirementsRequired Qualifications• Experience: Five or more years of experience in Mortgage Lending or Advanced Consumer Lending, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.• Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or a related field.• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive performance.• Knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and loan origination systems.• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding mortgage lending goals.• Strong understanding of mortgage compliance regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, ECOA, etc.).• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.• Meet and maintain qualifications required to be registered with NMLSR by the Safe Act• Experience working in a technology-driven environment with knowledge of digital mortgage solutions and automation tools.Personal AttributesStrategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.Results-oriented with the ability to drive change and deliver measurable outcomes.High level of integrity and ethical standards.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.• Strong Relationship management and business development skills (willing to make inside and outside sales calls)• Proven commitment to quality customer service• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Strong analytical skills necessary to evaluate credit requests• Great time management skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and loan requests simultaneouslyProvide financial counsel to customers within the realm of own experience and knowledge• Develop and implement relationship strategies for cross-selling bank products and services and referring business to other Bank employees and Oostburg Financial Services, LLC.• Keep up to date on lending products and services offered in financial institutions.
