Cobol Programming Developer

Job Summary We are seeking a Cobol Programming Developer for a contract/temporary opportunity in Chattanooga, TN. This role supports complex information systems in a government and public sector environment, with a focus on mainframe COBOL development, batch processing, system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and production support. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented developer who enjoys working on mission-critical applications, solving technical problems, and collaborating with both technical and business teams. Key Responsibilities Design, code, test, debug, document, modify, and support COBOL programs, subroutines, scripts, and related application components. Analyze system requirements, define scope and objectives, and translate business needs into effective technical solutions. Support batch enrollment processing for Facets, including troubleshooting, enhancements, and production support. Respond to system failures, performance issues, and production events to reduce downtime and prevent recurring problems. Maintain technical knowledge of mainframe environments, AIX, SQL, databases, operating systems, utilities, and related platforms. Provide guidance and support to less-experienced analysts or programmers as needed. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $39.00 to $53.00 per hour. Job type: Contract/Temporary.
