Project Accountant - EPC

Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Project Accountant to support community-scale solar photovoltaic and front-of-the-meter (FTM) commercial battery storage projects delivered under an EPC delivery model. This role is responsible for project-level support of client and vendor billings, simple revenue and cash-flow forecasting & reporting, lien waivers, and coordination with corporate accounting. The Project Accountant will be embedded with the project delivery team and will work closely with Project Managers, Administrators, Engineering, Construction, Project Finance and Corporate Finance. This role will also play a key part in the implementation of a new ERP system and in ensuring along with the Project Managers, the accuracy of project financials managed in Procore. This role is onsite based in San Francisco, CA RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Financial Planning & Forecasting Develop, maintain, and update in coordination with the Project Managers project-level revenue, cost, and cash-flow models, and coordinate with Project Finance and Corporate Planning. Support the PM's who track budgets, committed costs, actual costs, and forecasted costs to completion for our EPC contracts. Project Cost Control & Accounts Payable Act as the main point of contact for internal and external invoicing questions. Intake vendor and subcontractor, invoices and lien waivers for processing. Track and process vendor, and subcontractor invoices. Evaluate invoices of accuracy to contract requirements. Coordinate invoice approvals with Project Managers and project teams. Maintain accurate and auditable job-cost records. Enlist the help of AI systems to assist in the work. Client Billing & Revenue Support Work with the PMs to prepare and issue client invoices and lien waivers. Support progress billing, milestone billing, and final closeout invoicing. Track accounts receivable and support collections coordination. ERP System Implementation & Financial Systems Support the implementation of a new ERP system (SAP), including data validation and testing. Help define project accounting workflows between Procore and the ERP system. Ensure accurate and consistent project financial data across systems. Procore Financial Management Partner with Project Managers to ensure project financials in Procore are accurate and current. Reconcile Procore cost data with accounting records. Identify discrepancies and support corrective actions. Project Financial Reporting & Controls Prepare and issue monthly project financial health reports. Work with Project Managers and report Project Final Cost at Complete, cash flow, and profitability. Support monthly and quarterly close activities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3 to 5+ years of project accounting experience in construction environments. Korean - Bilingual Strong understanding of construction contract structures and job-cost accounting. Understanding of lien waiver processes and requirements. Experience with simple project cash-flow forecasting and revenue modeling. Familiarity with Procore or similar project management systems. Experience supporting ERP system implementations preferred. Advanced Excel skills: SAP ERP experience required. Detail-oriented with strong ownership and accountability. Comfortable in fast-paced project delivery environments. Strong communicator with Project Managers and Finance teams. Proactive problem-solver with high integrity . CPA accreditation is not required . Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc.
