Candidates must have previous experience operating a remote-controlled Overhead Crane in a Steel Service Center or fabrication environment. Individuals must also possess:Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a 1020-ton overhead crane is a plus. We are willing to train if no experiencePay rate depends on experienceAbility to work: Hours for day shift position 5am-5pm, Monday-Friday and for night shift position 5pm-5am, Monday-FridayAbility to stand, lift, climb and perform various other physical functionsDisplay the ability to use manual hand tools, including wrenches and clampsDisplay the ability to use basic measuring devices, including tape measure and micrometersDisplay the ability to accurately use basic math skillsObserve all workplace safety rules and regulationsBuild ordersOrganize materialsOperate an overhead craneMove steel beams to appropriateWhen job duties are not required, the individual must be able to perform the duties of another job function as determined by the supervisor.A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a teamPhysical requirements include standing or sitting (stationary position), walking (move, traverse), using hand/fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position), climbing (stairs/ladders) or balancing (ascend/descend, work atop, traverse), stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling (position self to), talking/hearing (communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information), seeing (detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, assess), pushing or pulling, reaching, and repetitive motion.Function in the job includes medium/heavy work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
