Lunch/Playground Supervisor

Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Lunch & Playground Supervisor. The goal of this position is to maintain a positive environment through safe and efficient supervision of school activities in the lunchroom and on the playground.The Ideal Candidate WillSupervise students and maintain order in the lunchroom, on the playground and in the halls/corridorsAssist in guiding students in development of desirable and acceptable social skills and habitsAssist in general welfare and safety of studentsReport accidents and hazardous conditions immediatelyResolve problems that might ariseInform teacher and/or principal of any serious problemsMaintain the school rules and be consistent with disciplineEncourage healthy attitudes and good bus/playground/lunchroom standardsConsistently encourage following rules and organization of games to help establish habits of fair play in order to enjoy wholesome recreation activitiesPeriodically inspect the safety of equipment on the playground and report safety concernsRespond immediately to safety complaints made by studentsSend students to the nurse on matters that require immediate medical attentionPerform other related duties as assignedReport to building principalRequirements IncludeEducation: GED or high school diploma preferred Experience and desire to work with children Friendly and shows patience with children Positive leadership skills Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude while on the job Ability to work efficiently with staff, students and community Excellent communication skills and ability to follow oral and written directions Ability to exercise good judgment, neatness, integrity and punctuality Ability to respect confidential matters Physical: Ability to lift 40 pounds to waist height occasionally Physical: Good agility and mobility with physical stamina to move about hard and soft play areas and ability to move quickly to students who are posing a risk to themselves or others
