This hands-on position involves performing mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on complex equipment, supporting the integrity and performance of wastewater treatment facilities in a dynamic environment. If you have a strong mechanical background and a commitment to safety and operational excellence, we invite you to join our team.Key Responsibilities:Lead daily maintenance activities, prioritize work orders, and coordinate with operations, engineering, and contractors to minimize downtimeDiagnose equipment failures, interpret mechanical drawings and specifications, and oversee installation and commissioning of repair and upgrade projectsSupport and mentor junior mechanics and maintenance staff, fostering a safety-conscious work environmentDevelop and implement preventive maintenance plans, recommend improvements, and document work in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and lockout/tagout procedures, ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulatory standardsSupport membrane system reliability and advanced treatment equipment, including pumps, blowers, chemical feed systems, and membrane bioreactorsSupport troubleshooting and repair of treatment process equipment such as UV systems, reverse osmosis (RO), and chemical feed systemsMaintain accurate records and logs of maintenance activities, asset condition, and equipment historyRequirements:Four years of full-time paid experience assisting in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, including at least one year related to wastewater equipmentDemonstrated experience maintaining and troubleshooting advanced wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, BNR, MBR, RO, UV disinfection, and chemical feed systemsKnowledge of repair methods for water reclamation equipment, mechanical tolerances, and troubleshooting mechanical issues such as abnormal temperature, noise, and flow problemsExperience supporting membrane system reliability, including mechanical and piping aspectsAbility to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, OEM manuals, and technical specificationsStrong skills in pump alignment, seal replacement, bearing installation, vibration analysis, and lubricationProficiency with CMMS documentation and compliance managementDeep understanding of safety protocols related to confined space, lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and high-pressure systemsExcellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multiple teams and vendorsHigh school diploma or equivalent; trade school or OEM training in pumps, membranes, or UV systems preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and manual labor under adverse conditionsCapable of working in hazardous environments and wearing required safety equipmentWilling and able to work shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidaysMust Haves For Role:Meets the health and physical condition standards deemed necessary and proper for performance of these dutiesIs able to work in hazardous conditionsIs able to work shift, weekend, and holiday schedulesHas ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and other manual work under adverse conditionsOperational Technical Services (OTS) is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
