OverviewGCG Custom Engineered Solutions is currently seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team at our Leominster, MA Cable Assembly facility!As a Buyer with our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and purchasing the raw materials needed to support our cable assembly operations. You'll play a key role in ensuring materials are available to meet production demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, cost control, and supplier performance.This role requires close coordination with internal teams and suppliers to manage demand signals, execute purchase orders, and maintain a steady flow of materials through the operation. Your work will directly support on-time delivery and overall operational efficiency.This is a hybrid role based in Leominster, MA, with in-office collaboration required to support daily operations.Location: 110 Jytek Drive, Leominster MASchedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm ESTWhat You'll DoProcurement Execution & Order ManagementManage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with production requirementsProcure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead timeMonitor open orders and proactively manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages or disruptionsMaterial Planning & Inventory ManagementReview MRP outputs in Oracle to plan and maintain appropriate inventory levels for assigned commoditiesEstablish and adjust safety stock levels in alignment with production needs and business objectivesBalance inventory investment with service level expectations to support efficient operationsSupplier Management & SourcingSource and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing and lead timesBuild and maintain strong supplier relationships to support reliability and continuous improvementParticipate in supplier performance reviews and support corrective actions as neededOperational & Cross-Functional SupportPartner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedulesResolve material issues including shortages, quality concerns, and supplier discrepanciesSupport cost reduction initiatives and process improvements across the procurement functionMaintain accurate data and transaction integrity within ERP and procurement systemsWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred3-5 years of experience in a purchasing, buyer, or materials planning role within a manufacturing environmentExperience working with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred)Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environmentEffective communication and negotiation skills with both internal teams and external suppliersProficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business applicationsDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, follow-through, and problem-solvingWhat We OfferCompetitive base salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000, dependent on relevant experienceComprehensive health coverage with multiple plan options (CDHP and PPO)Company-paid life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, supplemental insurance optionsGenerous time off including PTO, paid holidays, parental leave, and compassionate care leaveWellness and support programs (EAP, wellness incentives, telehealth)Extras including dental/vision, FSAs/HSAs with company contributions, pet insurance, legal services, and ID theft protectionAn employee-centric culture that values and truly appreciates our most important asset: You!Our Use of AI in RecruitingAt GCG, we use AI technology to assist with our interviews by automating note-taking, allowing our hiring teams to focus fully on the conversation.
