Technical Program Manager IIIRemoteSummary:In this role, the Technical Program Manager will support a Research team that is working on the future of input and interaction for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). This role will focus on managing cross-functional software programs through the planning and execution phases while working with researchers and engineers. Other aspects of the job will include overseeing budgets, communicating with stakeholders, coordinating resources and timelines, interfacing with partner teams in Reality Labs Research and external vendors.Responsiblities:Work with internal research/engineering teams to define roadmaps/milestones, track statuses of multiple projects, lead regular check-ins (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.), identify and escalate dependencies and risks, seek and reduce inefficienciesDevelop, maintain, and hold teams accountable to schedules while accounting for technical challenges and available resourcesCoordinate cross-functional interactions/dependencies and align disconnected teamsBe accountable for budgetsCommunicate program progress to cross-functional stakeholders through internal posts and meetingsOrganize and maintain information and task management systemsDevelop new lightweight processes as needed and improve existing processes based on feedback/retrospectives, keeping teams moving fast while minimizing unnecessary overheadWork with researchers to coordinate human subjects research experiments, including lab setup and data collection and analysis operationsRequired Qualifications:4+ years of experience as a technical program manager, working with engineers or researchers and driving project progress and schedules1+ years of experience managing budgets and contracts1+ years experience managing vendors and external suppliersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent computer skills and proficient with spreadsheets (G Suite, Excel)Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, proactiveness, and resourcefulnessExcellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities with ambiguity and to work successfully under pressurePreferred Qualifications:Experience in software development and human-computer interactionExperience in program management, process definition/improvements, relevant toolsExperience in managing budgets and contractsExperience with research, academic, and/or startup environmentsExperience working autonomously with team members from diverse backgrounds (scientists, engineers, program managers, supply chain, finance contacts, lawyers) and teams at different levels in the organizationEducation:Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience in areas of computer science, machine learning, and/or human computer interaction requiredMBA, M.S./Ph.D. or other related advanced degree preferred
