You will be assisting the Intervention Specialist with implementing specialized curriculum to a single child at a given time. Instruction is given to children outside of traditional classroom settings, designed to best meet their needs. This job is managed through the Autism Scholarship Program through the Ohio Department of Education.Our paraprofessionals need to be passionate about learning and love working with children. They must have strong creative and organizational skills, able to connect with individual students and develop strong relationships with faculty to create an engaging learning environment.Responsibilities: Implement specialized curriculum for a single student at a given timeCommunicate with both the intervention specialist and the student's parent(s) to best meet needs of self and student regarding scheduling, curriculum implementation, student progress, etc. Report IEP goals to intervention specialist regularlyAdminister baseline assessments for IEPObserve students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progressImplement basic behavior strategies to ensure a successful school day Qualifications: Have earned an associate degree or higher or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours)Ability to pass a state and federal background check High-energy with a love of working with childrenOrganized and detail-orientedStudies in education, social work, or psychology preferredExperience with children diagnosed with developmental disabilities preferred
