Design Manager

This role is intentionally split 50% hands-on design and 50% creative leadership—ideal for someone who wants to stay close to the work while guiding and growing a talented creative team.This is not a hands-off management role and not a junior design position. We’re looking for a strong senior designer who can lead, coach, execute, and elevate the work.What You’ll DoLead all creative projects from concept through production across print, digital, photography, videography, illustration, and related assetsManage daily creative operations including workflow, priorities, coordination, and delegationActively contribute as a hands-on senior designer, personally producing high-impact marketing and brand designPerform first-round reviews on all creative work, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and brand integrity while providing clear, constructive feedbackDevelop, maintain, and enforce brand standards across digital, print, environmental graphics, vehicle graphics, and tradeshow materialsBuild a collaborative, high-performing creative culture through regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, coaching, hiring, and trainingPartner closely with the Director of Marketing and collaborate cross-functionally to bring ideas to lifeConfidently advocate for strong design decisions while remaining open to feedbackManage vendor relationships, including print bidding, press checks, and final production (travel may be required)Ensure proper organization and management of digital assets using structured file systems or DAM tools50% Hands-On Design / 50% Creative ManagementCandidates must be comfortable and excited to do both.Must-Have Qualifications5+ years of professional design experience in a marketing or brand-focused environmentSenior-level graphic design skills across digital and printStrong organizational and project management skillsExperience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyHigh attention to detail with excellent proofreading and accuracyComfortable delivering clear, detailed, and actionable creative feedbackExpert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and confidence working in a Mac environmentDigital portfolio showcasing marketing-focused design workNice-to-Have1–2 years of experience leading or managing designersOpen to strong candidates stepping into their first formal management rolePhotography, videography, or visual content experienceNot a Fit If You…Want to manage but not designHave a portfolio focused only on illustration or logosDo not have a digital portfolioWorkload ExpectationsApproximately 40 active creative tickets across the teamThe Creative Manager personally handles ~10 tickets at a timeMix of:Short-turn projects (as quick as 2 days)Long-term initiatives (up to 6 months)Tools & EnvironmentAdobe Creative SuiteProject management tools such as Asana or MondayStrong file management and proofing experience requiredExperience working with a DAM or structured Dropbox-style workflowsWhy This RoleWe’re looking for a Creative Manager who brings positivity, resilience, and a “there’s always a way” mindset to every project.
