Network Engineer

Overview In this contract IT role you will support and implement network solutions under supervision, contributing to network design and operation. You will interface with customers and sales teams to align technical needs with business goals, and help maintain network performance and upgrades. The position focuses on building and operating network configurations, from hardware to operating systems, while providing mentored guidance to junior staff. You’ll shape network solutions to meet capacity and reliability targets in a telecommunications setting, supporting the team’s delivery of secure, scalable infrastructure. ResponsibilitiesAdjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demandsCommunicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needsCoordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgradesDesign, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server Operating systemsDetermine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemasDevelop and implement solutions for network problemsDevelop conceptual, logical or physical network designs Key requirementsBachelor's degree in computer science or a related field5-7 years’ experienceKnowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storageKnowledge of computer software including configuration management, desktop communications, operating systems and internet directory servicesExperience in designing, building or operating network configurationsAbility to develop network designs (conceptual, logical, physical)Effective communication with customers and internal teamsMentoring and providing constructive feedbackProblem-solving and analytical thinkingNetwork design (conceptual, logical, physical)Network hardware and softwareServers and server operating systems
