Cloud Solution Data Architect - 253898
Once per month or once per quarter in officeThe Principal Cloud Solution Data Architect designs, develops, and implements scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. This role integrates source systems, data stores, interfaces, and cloud infrastructure. As a technical leader, you will analyze business requirements, create system-level data architectures, and leverage cloud-native technologies (including containerization, microservices, and serverless architectures). You will collaborate enterprise-wide to troubleshoot issues, guide development teams in full-stack and cloud-native best practices, and maintain ultimate oversight in delivering innovative, cloud-optimized data and AI products aligned with organizational goals.Essential Core FunctionsExpert Judgment & Problem Solving: Leads others to solve complex problems using sophisticated analytical and critical thinking.Strategic Impact: Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives.Leadership: May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.Autonomy: Works independently, receiving guidance only in the most complex situations.Influence & Negotiation: Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt different points of view.Job-Specific ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & InnovationDefine and deliver high-level cloud medallion data architectures (bronze, silver, gold layers) that empower enterprise-wide analytics and AI solutions.Mentor and advise data engineers and analysts within Enterprise Data Analytics, Information Services, and operational analytics teams.Evaluate, select, and implement emerging technologies (e.g., data mesh, GenAI data stack, lakehouse evolution) tailored for healthcare infrastructure.Translate complex architectural designs into actionable tasks for development teams.System Design & DevelopmentLead the design and integration of data from source applications (e.g., electronic health records [EHR], ERP, and other health information systems) using APIs, ELT, and cloud infrastructure.Leverage expertise across software engineering, back-end technologies, databases, data engineering, and AI/ML engineering to build robust solutions.Ensure all solutions align with long-term organizational goals, industry best practices, user experience, security, integrity, patient privacy, and regulatory compliance.Collaboration & Strategic CommunicationPartner with stakeholders (product owners, business analysts, project managers, directors, and informatics specialists) to align technical solutions with business and clinical needs.Lead the enterprise data architecture and innovation roadmap aligned with the organization's business and technology strategy.Guide engineering, product, security, and compliance leaders to ensure the data platform supports real-time analytics, ML/AI, and regulatory needs.Project ManagementDevelop and communicate project estimates, work plans, and schedules using Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).Manage cross-functional teams and align project execution with organizational objectives, adjusting plans as requirements evolve.Documentation & Reference StandardsProduce and maintain detailed technical designs, program specifications, and interim components.Document comprehensive data architecture frameworks, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and procedures.Prepare operational manuals, technical references, security policies, and user training materials.System Monitoring & MaintenanceOversee data, analytics, and AI operating environments across production, UAT, QA, and development systems.Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and performance-tuning enhancements.Monitor cloud data platform performance to optimize queries, decrease processing times, reduce cloud costs, and enhance overall productivity.
