Corporate Safety Manager

We are looking to hire a Corporate Safety Manager to join our team.
Shift requirements:
Monday - Friday, Day Shift
7am - 5pm
Job Description:
Understand quality and safety within company specification, goals and objectives
Comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations; comply with internal ATI practices
Support all 6s and lean initiative and remain an active member of those committees.
Provide all levels of management the services and technical advise needed for proper administration of the safety and health program (e.g. Good Catch, Safety Luncheons)
Actively communicate with employees to ensure job safety analysis are completed
Prepare weekly safety topics for all managers and supervisors
Develop programs and technical guidance to identify and remove physical, chemical and biological hazards from facilities, operations, and sites
Assist management and supervisors in the safety and health training of employees and maintain records.
Administer or assist with training and testing as needed.
Coordinate with Human Resources and other departments as needed
Coordinate with insurance companies as needed to review lost claims, plant improvements, and risk mitigation
Conduct audits to identify unhealthy or unsafe conditions or work practices and prepare written reports or inspections
Review incident logs for all locations and identify trends in injury occurrences
Maintain outside professional contacts
Recommend programs and activities that will develop incentives and motivate employees to operate in a healthy and safe manner
Recommend disciplinary procedures for repeated violator of safety and health rules
Shut down any activity or process deemed unhealthy or unsafe
Create Safety Committee agenda and chair meetings as needed
Active member of the Emergency Response Team
Maintain first aid and CPR certification. Assist in an employee injuries and report accidents to the workers’ compensation carrier in a timely manner
Travel to other facilities as needed
Assist in safety related walk-thru required by fire district, OSHA, customers, ect.
Assist in customer audits regarding the company’s commitment to safety
Follow up on OSHA audit and attend any informal hearings
Develop and monitor yearly budget numbers
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of organizational chart within the company
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and production methods
Understanding of how to work with a team; must be able to motivate employees and encourage a safe and positive work environment while amplifying productivity
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
Must be familiar with Windows operating system, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems and make decisions involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to identify and assess potential risks involved in all areas
Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, website, and processes
10+ years of manufacturing experience necessary
Minimum requirement of high school diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor’s degree preferred

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
