This role supports the manufacturing process by identifying defects, maintaining equipment, and following production protocols.This job profile is intended for support staff that follows established procedures and works under close supervision. Smaller/easier decisions are made autonomously.Position SummaryBasic Function:He will be responsible to manufacture structural steel and platework, heavy machinery, other fabricated metal products. Welding & Fitting components for final assembly.Principle Duties And Responsibilities Perform daily Inspections and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment and Welding Machines including cables, Welding torch etc. as per Schedule. Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications Operate manually welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes primarily TIG and some experience with: (OAW), (GTAW), (GMAW) (MIG) Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment adjusting welding heads and tooling according to work specifications Perform Self-Inspection of parts and work to print Complete and maintain paperwork.Check machine for defects and repair if necessaryEnsure machine is calibrated and cleanedLift work piece manually, by forklift or by overhead crane, positions and secures against guides and stops.Maintains a clean work area, including his equipment, work supplies and materialsComplies with Federal, State, and local occupational safety, environmental, health and Safety and air pollution control regulations including machine safety with all safety precautions recommended by Machine manufacturers.Adhere to Sulzer safety standards of facility and actively participate in the company’s Safe Behavioral Program & Take 5.Perform other duties and special projects as assignedExperience, Education & SkillsRequired: 2-3 years’ experience in use of metal fabrication or related work comparable experience in other fieldsDesired:High School Degree or GEDCompletion of a three-year apprenticeship program Ability to set-up and run machinery without supervisionUnderstand and follow oral and written instructionsForklift or Crane license considered an assetTrade certification is requiredAbility to read and interpret production and sales orders.Experience in safe use, storage and disposal of Welding rods & cleaning the work area etc.Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations pertaining to occupational safety, health, and air pollution control.Experienced in using power and hand toolsMeticulous and detail orientedAble to lift 50 pounds unassistedAble to work independentlyHighly self-motivatedWhat we offer youCompetitive Paid Time Off (3 weeks to start)12 Company Paid Holidays per yearAnnual Bonus ProgramFull Medical, Dental, and Vision benefitsCompany Paid Short Term and Long Term Disability, Company Paid Life Insurance6% 401K or Roth Company Match with Immediate VestingCompany Paid Retirement Security Contributions following 1 year of employmentTuition Reimbursement/Educational AssistanceSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
