Fiber Splicing Technician (2+ Years Experience)Snyder, TX | Brownwood, TX | Brookesmith, TXNFM Consulting is currently seeking experienced Fiber Splicing Technicians to join our team. This is an immediate opportunity for qualified candidates with a strong background in fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting in both ISP and OSP environments.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform fusion splicing, termination, and installation of fiber optic cables (loose tube and ribbon, up to 288ct)Construct splice cases, including bonding, slack storage, and sealingInstall and maintain enclosures (Tyco, Hubbell, Corning, Coyote, Commscope)Perform mid-span entry/ring cuts without service interruptionRead, interpret, and update splicing records, schematics, and fiber mapsUtilize fiber testing equipment including fusion splicer, OTDR, power meter, VFL, and traffic metersTroubleshoot and repair damaged fiber efficientlyEnsure compliance with OSHA and customer safety standardsParticipate in on-call rotation (24/7/365) and work overtime as neededComplete additional duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 75 lbsAbility to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawlWillingness to work outdoors in all weather conditionsQualificationsMinimum of 2 years of fiber splicing experience (required)Experience with fiber terminations, testing, and troubleshootingStrong understanding of fiber optic color code systemsFamiliarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC standardsAbility to read and interpret technical documentationValid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving recordMust pass pre-employment drug screening and a 7-year criminal background checkPreferred:Experience as a fiber optic technician, splicer, or in fiber construction/telecommunicationsCompensationPay is based on experienceBi-weekly payrollFull-time position with consistent workHow to ApplyQualified candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting an updated resume.
