Staffing Process Engineer II Location: Corning Solar Plant, Hemlock, MI | On-Site | Full Time Duration: 6 months (potential extension) | M-F, 8am 5pm Job Summary The Process Engineer II delivers hands-on engineering support to drive improvements in safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency within a manufacturing plant. This role is essential to troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions on the production floor. The position offers exposure to cross-functional teams and opportunities to lead critical process optimization projects. Key Responsibilities - Provide direct engineering support on the manufacturing floor for equipment, product, process, and operational troubleshooting. - Analyze data, process conditions, and observations to identify root causes and improvement opportunities. - Recommend, implement, and verify corrective actions to enhance quality, process stability, uptime, and throughput. - Support equipment start-up, commissioning, qualification, and process optimization activities. - Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues and achieve sustainable improvements. - Maintain technical documentation, update procedures and standard work, and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly. Key Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or other STEM. - Minimum 2 years hands-on process engineering in manufacturing or plant environment. - Strong experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. - Data analysis and process improvement expertise. - Effective communication and documentation skills. - Commitment to safety and compliance. Preferred Experience - Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or other continuous improvement methodologies. - Familiarity with manufacturing systems, process controls, and data analysis tools. - Mechanical aptitude; willingness to engage on the production floor. Work Environment - Primarily floor-based with extensive walking and standing. - Occasional off-shift or extended-hour support may be required.
