In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end AI-powered solutions that enhance our healthcare products and services. You will work across the full stack, from front-end user interfaces to back-end AI model integration and data pipelines. Your expertise will contribute to building scalable, efficient, and intelligent systems that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies, including large language models, vector databases, and autonomous workflows. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex problems, a strong foundation in software development, and experience in deploying AI solutions in a production environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders will be essential to translate clinical and business needs into innovative AI-driven applications.QualificationsMinimum 4+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of delivering AI-enhanced applications.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Deep understanding of AI systems, including large language models, voice, image, and speech processing models.Proficiency in Python and AI-related libraries such as OpenAI, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.Experience with building and optimizing data pipelines, datasets, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems using tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex.Knowledge of AI system evaluation metrics (precision, recall, F1-score, AUC-ROC) and MLOps for scalable deployment.Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Github Copilot, Cursor, and Codeium/Windsurf.Expertise in managing LLM costs through prompt caching, batching, and quantization techniques.Understanding of the latest advancements in LLMs (GPT-3.5, GPT-4, and other models) to inform model selection and fine-tuning.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver AI-driven enterprise-quality software applications that meet healthcare industry standards.Build scalable applications integrating Large Language Models and AI tools (voice recognition, document parsing, image analysis, text-to-speech) into both new and legacy systems.Design and optimize data pipelines and datasets to support AI system development, testing, and deployment.Effectively communicate complex AI concepts such as LLMs, vector databases, and retrieval systems to non-technical stakeholders.Iteratively craft and refine prompts to maximize LLM performance, including prompt caching strategies and benchmarking.Maintain comprehensive prompt libraries and performance benchmarks to ensure consistent results.Fine-tune and serve GPT-family models, Llama, and other relevant AI models for specific applications.Develop AI agents and Semantic Kernel solutions to enable autonomous workflows and co-pilot experiences.Document all development work thoroughly at both code and application levels to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders on large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Stay current with AI advancements, continuously learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.BenefitsMcKesson offers a competitive total rewards package designed to support our employees' health, well-being, and financial security.
