This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in commercial doors, frames, millwork, and hardware who is ready to transition into an office-based position focused on estimating, technical support, and customer coordination. This is not a traditional commission-driven sales role. Instead, it focuses on preparing accurate estimates for door and millwork projects, supporting customers with technical expertise, and coordinating with contractors and internal teams. Position OverviewThe Door and Millwork Estimator will support commercial door, millwork, and hardware projects from pre-bid through completion. This person will work closely with contractors, internal teams, and vendors to prepare detailed estimates and quotes, review specifications, coordinate project details, and provide technical guidance. The role also includes customer support responsibilities such as answering inquiries, processing orders, and maintaining relationships with contractors. Key ResponsibilitiesReview plans, specifications, and project requirements for commercial door and millwork projects Prepare detailed estimates, proposals, and pricing for door, frame, millwork, and hardware packages Perform material takeoffs from blueprints and construction documents Act as an internal point of contact for contractors, customers, and internal teams Coordinate project details with vendors, suppliers, and installation teams Support customer inquiries, quotes, and order processing Build strong relationships with contractors and customers through technical expertise and responsive communication Track project and customer activity within internal systems and CRM tools Provide technical guidance on commercial door systems, millwork, hardware, and access solutions QualificationsExperience with commercial doors, frames, millwork, and hardware (estimator, installer, PM, coordinator, or similar background) Ability to read blueprints, perform takeoffs, and interpret construction documents and specifications Strong organizational and communication skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple estimates and projects at once Comfortable working in an office-based, collaborative environment Prior exposure to Division 8 or millwork specifications preferred Why This Role Stands OutOpportunity to move from the field into an office-based estimating role Stable schedule and predictable compensation Long-term growth potential within a reputable construction organization Ability to leverage technical expertise without the demands of heavy outside sales
